Short on rent? You might qualify for Colorado’s rental assistance program

Over 1,000 people were evicted in Denver in January as Colorado prepares to accept applications for its rental assistance program. In January 2025, there were 1,539 evictions, slightly lower than the previous year. The Colorado Emergency Rental Assistance Program aims to help those at risk of eviction, but eligibility requires no rental assistance in the past 24 months, an income below 60% of the area median, and experiencing significant life events. Pre-applications open Monday at 11 a.m. and close Wednesday at 5 p.m.
